Every buy
is a dot.
The median sets the fee.
Each buy can carry a dot: the fee its buyer wants. Three times a day the weighted median of the dots moves the pool's fee, and the dots that called it get up to half their fee back.
Each dot is one buy, sized by its weight: the ETH it paid, faded to nothing over the last hour before the gavel. It is drawn at the move it counts as, at most two quarter points from the fee in force; a tick marks a dot that asked for more. The weighted median, in vermilion, is the decision.
Why buy here
The Uniswap app cannot route this pool: its hook takes part of the fee as a return delta, and the app refuses such pools. Bots and aggregators trade it through Uniswap's Quoter and pay the fee like everyone, but they send no dot. This page buys through the Desk, a router with no owner that carries your dot inside the swap and can park the FOMC in reserves in the same transaction.
